Who is the PAJ GPS Easy Finder For?

Who is the PAJ GPS Easy Finder For

A Li-ion battery powers the Easy Finder tracker. So, the portable tracker can be used for several applications like tracking children, elderly family members, assets, and luggage.

It can be technically used to track vehicles, but it would be best to stick PAJ GPS devices like Vehicle Finders specifically designed for vehicles.

You can use the Easy Finder device to track your children throughout the day or when they are on trips. If you look after seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s, the tracker can let you know if they are on the move or have left their homes.

If your child or parent needs help, they can press the SOS button, and you will receive an alert. You can view their live location and help them accordingly.

If you are concerned about your luggage on a trip, the tracker can provide you with its location and alert you when your bag is moving.

5 Important Factors We Tested the PAJ GPS Easy Finder On

The PAJ GPS tracker boasts a good design, battery life, and features. We tested the tracker in various scenarios and routes to see how the tracker actually performs. Here are our findings.

1. Design

Inside the box, you will receive the Easy Finder tracker, a charging cable, a USB wall plug adapter, a protective bag, a SIM card, and an instruction manual.

The Easy Finder device has the dimensions 3.07 x 1.53 x 1.14 inches. It weighs about 3.5 ounces. The tracker is bigger than other devices on the market. It can be placed inside backpacks or worn with the help of a lanyard.

The device has an IP65 rating. This means it is dustproof and can handle water from low-pressure sources.

The on/off button is on the top of the device. The charging port is available on the back of the device.

The device has three icons and LED lights on its face. They represent the network (orange LED), battery (red LED), and GPS status (blue LED). If the orange and blue LED is on, the tracker has acquired a network and GPS signal.

Under these three LEDs, you will find the large SOS button. The device wearer can press this button for five seconds to activate the SOS mode and send an alarm.

2. Battery

The Easy Finder tracker includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery. It has a capacity of 3000 mAh. The battery can last for 2 to 10 days, depending on usage.

For example, if you use the tracker for 6 to 8 hours a day with frequent live tracking or receive multiple alerts, the battery can last for a maximum of 2 to 3 days.

If the tracker is used for 1 to 2 hours a day, then the battery can last for 5 to 7 days. And if the tracker enters standby mode and sends updates once a day, the battery can extend to 10 days.

Overall, we found the battery life works as advertised.

The one feature I am not fond of is that the device can only be charged using the magnetic cable in the box. It is an additional cable you have to carry when traveling. If you do not position the tracker correctly when charging, the cable keeps falling off.

PAJ GPS should consider a design improvement by including a standard port and cable for charging the tracker.

3. Usability

The tracker must be fully charged before you use it for the first time. To charge the tracker, attach the magnetic cable at the back and connect the other end to a wall plug adapter with a USB port.

The red LED on the device turns red while charging, and it turns off when the device has fully charged.

You can activate your device through the Finder portal. You have to select the subscription plan and register the device. You will need the device ID at the time of activation, which you can find at the back of the device.

Once the device is activated, you can switch on the tracker by pressing the on/off button at the top right-hand side. Move the device around or place it under the open sky to acquire a signal and log data for the first time.

You can customize and monitor the tracker using the desktop portal or app. Please note, on the website, you will see the app name Finder, which you will not find on Google Play or App Store. The actual app name is – ONLINE FINDER Portal by PAJ, and the updated version available is called PAJ Portal v2.

The tracking portal and app are decent. You may have to initially spend time with the portal, understanding how to set the alarms as the instructions are not clear. They could do with design and performance improvements.

4. Features

You can set a virtual fence and receive an alert if the tracker leaves the predetermined area. For example, you can place the tracker on an elderly parent with the help of the lanyard. You can set a fence around their home and receive an alert if they leave alone. You can then use the live tracking feature to know where they are.

The tracker provides a speed alert, meaning you will be notified if the tracker exceeds a certain speed limit. You can set the speed limit through the portal or the app. I suggest you keep the speed limit higher than usual, or you may get multiple false alerts.

As mentioned above, the tracker has an SOS button. The device wearer, a child or an elderly parent, can press the button for five seconds. You will be notified through the app and/or email.

The tracker can alert you when it is moved or shaken. For example, if you are tracking an asset or luggage, you can know when the box is on the move.

5. Performance

Regarding design, the tracker is not the smallest on the market. The brand says it can track children or patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s. But, the size makes it challenging to place the tracker discreetly.

Children can keep the tracker in their backpacks, while seniors best have the device around their necks. We would not recommend people carry the tracker around in their pockets.

The setup is straightforward, but using the tracking portal and app can be a hassle initially. Spend an hour going through all the options available to understand better where you can set alarms or view live tracking.

The tracker comes preinstalled with a SIM, and the subscription plans are affordable, so that is a plus. It has a good battery life. The alerts were pretty much accurate. But in some cases, they did get delayed by a couple of minutes.

What Sets the PAJ GPS Easy Finder Apart from its Competitors?

What Sets the PAJ GPS Easy Finder Apart from its Competitors

If the tracker is on the move, it sends updates every 30 seconds. When it stops moving for a few minutes, it enters standby mode to preserve the battery. When the tracker moves again, it switches to active mode and resumes the 30-second updates.

This functionality helps you get detailed location data and an extended battery life.

The tracker saves route data for up to 365 days. You can view where the tracker has been and the stops along the way.

If the tracker has been switched off, you receive an alarm. You can view the last updated location on the portal or app. The alarm lets you know that the tracker has been tampered with.

The Easy Finder is a well-performing tracker in terms of battery, alerts, and features. It is one of the most affordable trackers on the market, with equally affordable subscription plans.

In standard mode, it provides updates every 30 seconds. It is equipped with an SOS button for emergencies.

If discretion is a priority, it would be best to explore other trackers, as the Easy Finder is on the bigger side.
